The Colt Navy Revolver 1851 is a beginner's weapon on the game. It is a brand of pistol.
The picture in the menu portrays a slotted cylinder, which is only seen in modern nonfiring reproductions and were absent from the historical pistol.
The “1851 Navy” shown in game and in cutscenes, is actually a brass framed 1860 Army, which differs by having a stepped up cylinder to accommodate .44 caliber projectiles rather than the original .36 caliber projectiles. It is also distinguishable as the 1860 Army due to its blade front sight and sloping loading lever, while the original 1851 Navy had a brass bead front sight and the Old Model loading lever design shared with the Colt 1849 Pocket and Colt 1848 Third Model Dragoon. All these historical weapons would have had steel frames rather than brass.
